The Reverend David Tate - Assistant Priest

David was born in 1944 and was ordained an OLM priest in All Saints, North Wootton in 2003.

I am married to Margaret and we have three children (aged 33, 30 and 26) all away from home and a grandchild. We were both born and raised in Yorkshire, but left after our marriage due to my job in local government finance.

I qualified as an accountant and worked in Chester, North Wales and London before moving to King’s Lynn as Borough Treasurer and settling in the Woottons in 1986. We have been regular members of both churches since then. I was churchwarden at All Saints from 1989 to 1996 and currently undertake the duties of Gift Aid Officer, Christian Aid organiser for King’s Lynn and Deanery Assessor. Licensed as a Reader in 1997, I started training for OLM in 2000.

Interests outside the church include sport, photography, travelling and pretending to garden. Community activities are high on my list, having been a parish councillor for 6 years and becoming involved in several voluntary organisations. I enjoy the broad worship on offer in The Woottons and wish to see further expansion of our variety of services to reach out into the community.  Music is essential to most of my worship but I struggle to improve my tambourine skills. David is congregational leader at the St Mary's Cafe Church.
