I
was born in Sunderland the only child in a Christian family and became a
committed Christian during my early teenage years. After national service in the
RAF (was a great testing time for my faith) I returned to my employment in
Builders and Plumbing Merchanting.
I met Mary at a Young People’s Fellowship. We
married in 1957 and have two sons and a daughter, plus ten grandchildren, ages
ranging from 27 years to 18 month old identical twin boys. In 1971 I moved to
Norfolk to train students on the new Builders and Plumbers Merchanting Course at
the Construction Industry Training Board.
We have lived in the Woottons for 30 years. I
served as a parish councillor for approximately 8 years and as a governor of
South Wootton Junior School for 7 years. We have mainly been involved in
Independent Evangelical churches. But two years ago my wife and I felt it right
to serve God in All Saints, North Wootton.
I enjoy reading and listening to music, watching
football and cricket. I still support Sunderland.
