Would you like to ensure a future for our Churches and
the associated services they provide for the community
as a whole? You may do so by joining the “Friends
Organisation” and making a regular contribution towards
meeting the costs of maintaining the Churches.
We believe that many "non church goers" value the
presence of the Church in the community for the services
it provides and are happy to make a contribution to its
upkeep. Hence the Friends of the Church in Woottons was
born in 1989
and has provided much valued support over the years, but
many of those who gave so generously are no longer with
us.
Hence we need to increase the numbers of the “Friends”
and membership is open to all who agree to make an
annual donation of at least £12.00 per year towards the
costs of maintaining the two churches. We want to
increase the Friends in order to increase much needed
funds, but primarily to improve the links between the
Church and the wider community and to ensure the upkeep
of two important historic buildings.
The Church offers wonderful opportunities for the
promotion of family values and the development of a true
community spirit, in addition to meeting the needs for
marriage, baptism, confirmation and death.
We plan to extend the social side of the "Friends" and
encourage the feeling of belonging to a worthwhile and
constructive group. As a Friend, your level of
involvement is your decision. However, we believe that
the greater the involvement, the greater the enjoyment.
If you wish the Church to remain as a vibrant part of
the community and want to contribute financially to the
Church or to participate in social activities, we invite
you to join the "Friends of the Church in the Woottons".
Please ring David Collis on 01553 673509 for further
details. You are also welcome to pledge a gift of
donation to The Church in the Woottons by using the
'DONATE' link at the top of this page.
