Born and brought up in and around King’s Lynn, I
trained and qualified as a teacher of Physical Education at Dartford
College. Married to Malcolm, I have four children (three living abroad)
and five grandchildren. I have been a full time Nursery teacher at
Heacham Infant School since 1996 and became a Governor of North Wootton
Community School last year.
It was in 1994 that I first felt called to ordained
ministry. I fought it for some while but then began training in 2000. I
was ordained deacon in 2003 and priest in 2004. I enjoy every minute of
it even though it entails juggling family, work and church. I would like
to be out and about in the parish during the week, but am unable to
achieve this with my secular job. However there is a ministry to fulfil
within the school amongst both parents and children, where I am able to
provide a listening ear.
I feel privileged to serve the congregations of
North and South Wootton. I have learnt so much from our previous
incumbent and am eager to continue to learn from a new one. I am
passionate about enabling people to worship and believe that both music
and appropriate silence play a large part in this. I have a keen
interest in mission and, together with a small group, have recently
organised a mission weekend. I believe that mission, and indeed all
change in the church, needs to be under girded by prayer.
