Anne's Experience of Alpha

I went along to the Alpha Course; it seems a long while ago now.  (It was January 2009.)  My faith has always been deep but many times it has been weak and far from strong especially over the last few years.

So I was “persuaded” that what I needed was to go on the Alpha Course.  I went along with my friend Rachel (for moral support).  I was convinced that all the people there would be very knowledgeable and know the Bible “word for word” – inside out; chapter and verse.

The Nicky Gumbel DVD talks were a joy to listen to.  Following each talk, as a group, we threw our questions at Neil and discussed Nicky’s talk.

I was glad I went.  What I gained is not much to write down but it was pretty big for me – a deeper awareness that I am really happy in my faith and that God is always there for me.

So if anybody is thinking ‘shall I or shan’t I go to an Alpha Course?’ do it!  You will be glad that you did – I was.
